Peri has settled into a role as a team leader on the course...brings solid credentials from her high school career and an attitude to win...also an achiever in academics.
AT TECH (In 2011-12): Peri was once again a leader on the cross country team, competing in six meets and leading the team in three of those meets...posted a season-best 5K time of 19:53 at Evansville...was Tech's third finisher at the OVC Championships with a 20:19.
(In 2010-11): Peri displayed consistency throughout her freshman season on the Tech squad...started out of the gate as the team leader on the course in cross country...placed first on the team at Sewanee and Western Kentucky...rolled out a trio of second-place finishes in the TTU Invitational and at Furman and Evansville...led the team again at the OVC Championship meet with a time of 20:01.62...achieved a career-best time of 19:30.40 at Evansville...competed in the 3000 meter, 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 meter in track and field...posted the third-best time in school history in the 3,000 steeplechase with a 12:11.34, earning points at the OVC Outdoor Championship...ran a season-best time of 10:53 in the 3,000 at Vanderbilt and recorded a season-best 19:24 in the 5,000 at Jacksonville State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Peri lettered four seasons in cross country and track at Farragut High School for coach Chelsea Jacobs...proved to be a stand-out runner for a strong program...named to the all-conference team in her senior season and to the second team all-conference in her junior year...named second-team all-region during her senior year, when she placed 11th in the region...co-captain of the cross country squad in her junior and senior seasons...a four-time state qualifier in cross country and a three-time region qualifier in track...helped the team to second place finishes in the region in 2007 and 08, and to a third place finish in 2009...the squad also came in fifth at the state championships in 2007 and fourth in 2008...set a personal cross country record time of 19:50 at the Footlocker South Regionals...also competed in junior-varsity basketball in her freshman and sophomore years for coach Wes Edmonds...as a student, named to the National Honor Society and won scholar-athlete awards.
