COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With their non-conference volleyball schedule behind them, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (1-9) will look to open their Ohio Valley Conference schedule on the right foot as they head to Jacksonville State Tuesday, for a 6 p.m. match.
Last season, the Golden Eagles squared off with the Gamecocks three times, coming away with a victory in each instance. All-time, TTU owns an 8-10 record against Jacksonville State.
Tech's last meeting with JSU came in the opening round of the OVC Tournament last season. In that meeting, the Golden Eagles rallied from a 2-1 deficit as they took the fourth and the fifth sets to knock the Gamecocks out of the tournament.
JSU opens OVC play with a 2-8 record, including a 3-0 victory against Western Carolina in its last match. Stephanie Koontz leads the Gamecock offense with 87 kills, while Lauren Harkins has posted a team-leading 111 digs.
