In 2013 (Junior): Katie started in all 19 matches for the Golden Eagles, and was one of just three players to play in all 1,766 minutes on the season…scored one goal on seven total shots, five of which were on-goal for a .714 shot-on-goal percentage, the second highest on the team…tallied one assist, collecting three total points…found the back of the net to open the scoring against Eastern Illinois on Sep. 29…picked up an assist in Tech’s home opener against Evansville on Aug. 25…took a season-high two shots, both of which were on-goal in a 0-0 tie at Jacksonville State on Oct. 13.
In 2012 (Sophomore): Phillips played a monumental role as a defender during her sophomore campaign, finishing second on the team with 1,645 minutes of action… started in all 18 matches, playing at least 85 minutes in every one of them… ripped eight shots on the year.
In 2011 (Freshman): Phillips saw extended
playing time in her freshman season, seeing action in 17 games
while earning two starts… played more than 500 minutes as a
defender, showing plenty of promise… took two shots, one of
which was on goal.
HIGH SCHOOL: Phillips excelled defensively for four years under Coach Ron Quinn at Seton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio… honored as a Midwest College Showcase Defensive Player and Rookie of the Year… voted team captain on a team that was the Champion of the Mid-West Regional League, State Cup Semi-Finalist three times over, and United Cup Gold Division Champion.
CLUB/ODP EXPERIENCE: Phillips played for the Tri-State Futbol Alliance under Chris Slusher.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Keith and Angie Phillips… born April 24, 1993… full name is Katie Marie Phillips… four times named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll...twcie named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll...majoring in pre-physical therapy.
