BILL BERG INVITATIONAL: Oct. 16-17, 2017 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,057-yard The Ridges Country Club in Hayesville, N.C. Teams will kick off with a 7:45 a.m. CT shotgun start each day.
THE COMPETITION: The 15-team field consists of host Western Carolina, as well as Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Limestone, Longwood, Marshall, Morehead State, Presbyterian, Richmond, Samford, Tennessee Tech, Winthrop, and Wofford.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "It's been some time since we played in one of Western Carolina's events, but they truly know how to host a golf tournament and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete this week. This will be the women's second straight trip to North Carolina, and they have proved in practice the past two weeks they are ready to get back after it again. I can't wait to see how they perform."
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles return to North Carolina for the second ever Bill Berg Invitational, the team's first appearance in the event and first in a Western Carolina-hosted tournament since the Great Smokies Intercollegiate in 2013-14. Tech will get some playing experience against Ohio Valley Conference rivals Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State in the event.
