COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team is set to host the fifth annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn. from Sunday, Mar. 19 to Tuesday, Mar. 21 at Sevierville Golf Club.
BOBBY NICHOLS INTERCOLLEGIATE: 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at par-71, 5,803-yard Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. Teams will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start each day.
GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Whitney Robertson, junior Allyson Dunn, senior Lydia Triplett, redshirt freshman Arianna Clemmer and sophomore Hollee Sadler, and, as individuals, senior Haley Davidson, redshirt freshman Shelby Johnson and sophomore Lindsay Miller.
THE COMPETITION: The seven-team field consists of host Tennessee Tech, as well as Belmont, Carson-Newman, Evansville, Lee University, Radford and Tennessee State.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "It is always an exciting time for our program to host this event and honor the legendary Coach Nichols. We have a lot of good memories in the four years of the event, and we look to build on those this upcoming week. Everyone will be getting the opportunity to compete, which is always a plus. The team is looking forward to Sunday."
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles will look to capture the title at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate for the second time in school history, adding to the championship won in the inaugural event back in 2013. Last season, Tech collected a runner-up finish in Sevierville, narrowly missing its comeback bid on Southern Miss. Both Robertson and Dunn earned All-Tournament honors, finishing third and fifth, respectively.
