COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team opens up the 2013-14 regular season at home Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Eblen Center versus in-state foe Tennessee Wesleyan.

The Golden Eagles look to build off an impressive exhibition game where they beat NAIA member Truett-McConnell, 93-54. Sophomore Mariah Dean led the way scoring 14 points, and was joined in double-digits by junior Diamond Henderson who dropped 13, and freshman Catherine Taylor who added 12.

Tennessee Wesleyan, an NAIA opponent from Athens, Tenn., enters the match with a 2-0 record, having already beaten Marian College and Brenau University.

This marks the fourth consecutive meeting between these two programs, with Tech leading, 4-0, including an 86-47 victory last season. Henderson led the Golden Eagles in last year's meeting with 16 points and T'Keyah Williams added a team-high six rebounds. The Bulldogs return Cody Houck who grabbed a game-high seven rebounds against Tech.

Saturday's game will also be Legends Weekend, and Tech women's basketball alumni will be honored during halftime.

Fans will be able to catch all the action both through live stats and video on the OVC Digital Network. Tim Scruggs will be calling the game, and his call will be rebroadcast for the delayed radio broadcast on the Golden Eagle Sports Network on 106.1 The Eagle.
