COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With its 11-5 Ohio Valley Conference record, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team has earned a first-round bye in the OVC Tournament and will take on Eastern Kentucky Thursday.

The opening tip is set for 2 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.

TTU enters the OVC Tournament firing on all cylinders as it has racked up nine wins in its last 11 games, including two against EKU and one against TSU.

Senior Rachel Glidden has averaged 8.9 points per game, while connecting on 24 three point field goals, while sophomore Molly Heady has averaged 8.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

With Tech taking on EKU in the second round, it will be its third meeting with the Lady Colonels this season and its 74th all-time meeting with TTU holding the series edge at 52-21. In their two prior meetings, the Golden Eagles handed EKU an 82-67 loss on the road and a 66-51 loss in Cookeville.

Tech and Eastern Kentucky have faced off in the OVC Tournament nine times, with the Golden Eagles winning six of those encounters. The last time TTU and EKU met in the OVC Tournament was back in the 2003-04 season when Tech took an 85-74 loss.
