COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- Behind a solid showing against Jacksonville State and Eastern Kentucky last week, Tennessee Tech senior Tacarra Hayes has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness Monday.
Hayes has been named the OVC Player of the Week twice this season and seven times during her four seasons at Tech.
During this past week, Hayes led all Golden Eagles in several categories including points (18.0 ppg), rebounds (9.5 rpg) and assists (4.0 apg). She went 12-of-13 from the free throw line.
Hayes began the week with a 15-point, five-rebound performance against JSU, but she saved her best for last as she notched her 12th career double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles wrap up their two-game road trip Monday, as they take on Morehead State, at 5 p.m. (CT).
