Veteran Golden Eagle golf team opens season at Sea Trail
First of four tournaments on Tech's Fall
schedule
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- A veteran lineup will head to the North
Carolina Coast this weekend with second-year head coach Craig King
as the Tennessee Tech men's golf team opens the 2009-2010 season in
Elon University's Sea Trail Invitational.
Played at the lush Sea Trails Golf Resort in the Myrtle Beach
region, the tournament will feature nearly 20 teams in three days
of golf to get the new season underway.

Five seniors and one junior will make the journey to Sunset Beach
for the Golden Eagles, all from Tennessee including a pair of
homegrown products. Seniors Wes Korth and Jared Dunn both hail from
Cookeville and embark upon the final season of their four-year
career with the Golden Eagles.
Joining that pair in Tech's five-man lineup will be senior Josh
Simer of Bolivar, senior Jake Heatherly from Jacksboro, and junior
TravisRamsey from Grimsley.
Also qualifying to compete at Sea Trail as an individual is senior
Preston Marshall of Kingsport.
"This is a veteran team and most of these guys have played at this
tournament once or twice, so they should be comfortable this
weekend," King said. "They've all been working extremely hard, not
only during the past few weeks but all summer long, and they are
really anxious to get out there and compete."
The Sea Trail Invitational is the first of four on the men's
schedule for the fall season. Tech plays at the Murray State
Invitational on Oct. 5-6, the UT Martin Skyhawk Invitational Oct.
12-13, and the Austin Peay Invitational Oct. 19-20.
Results of the Sea Trail will be posted nightly on
TTUsports.com.
