Golden Eagle golf adds East Tennessee's Greg Kitts
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Greg Kitts, a standout during his high
school career at Anderson County High School, has signed a national
letter of intent to attend Tennessee Tech and continue his golf
career for Golden Eagle coach Craig King.
“Greg is a really solid golfer who has a total command of
his game,” King said. “He’ll be an excellent
addition to our program, and I look for him to continue his success
on the college level.”
The son of Greg and Kim Kitts of Caryville, Tenn., the younger
Greg was selected team captain in two different sports at Anderson
County High School. He led the golf team for coach Johnny Cox, and
the 5-11 guard was also captain of the basketball team for coach
Derrick Wallace.
He plans to major in exercise science while hitting the links for
King’s team.
Kitts placed third in the district and second in the region during
his junior year, before claiming 12th place at the TSSAA state
championships while helping his team win the regional crown and
take seventh place at the state level.
As a senior, he placed first in the region and finished second in
the state tournament individually, helping Anderson County to
repeat as Region champions and finish second in the TSSAA state
meet.
