TEE TALK: Jake heads into his final season with
the team as one of the most experience members...ability to qualify
for every tournament...calm under pressure...has a solid
swing...originally a walk-on...has been a tremendous asset for this

AT TECH -- In 2008-09: Jake played 22 rounds for Tech in his eight tournament qualifications...averaged 77.1 strokes on the year...finished the seaon with 2 TOP 20 tournament finishes...shot two sub-par rounds, with his season best coming at the Big Blue Invitational where he shot 74-73-70--217 and finished tied for 12th...best finish of a tie for sixth coming at the Pizza Hut/AT&T Invitational...
In 2007-08: Jake played in eight of the team's
nine tournaments as a junior, and averaged 76.5 strokes through his
22 rounds in competition ...shot three sub-par rounds, including
low of 70 on the opening day of the Murray State Invitational in
April...best finish was tie for eighth at the Grover Page Classic
in March, shooting 72-75--147...two other Top20 outings had him
tied for 13th at the Pizza Hut Invitational and 17th at the Murray
In 2006-07: Jake developed into a strong contributor for the Golden Eagles in his second season, compiling the fourth-best average on the squad...played in four tournaments and fired 12 tournament rounds, posting a 75.9 stroke average....two sub-par rounds...low round was a 69 in the final round of the 54-hole Belmont Invitational (April 3)...helped him climb to 19th place finish, carding 73-70-69--212 for one-under total.
In 2005-06: Did not qualify for tournament play as a freshman.
AS A PREP: A 2005 graduate from Campbell County High School, Jake lettered four seasons in golf, one season in basketball and one season in tennis...as a member of the Cougar golf team, Jake helped lead the team to two district titles, earning three all-district team nods.
