COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech will look to rebound from an 85-65 loss to Lamar on Friday in the second half of a two-game homestand on Sunday when Wilberforce visits Eblen Center.
The Golden Eagles and Wilberforce will tip at an unusual time – 4 p.m.
The Golden Eagles come into the game with a 2-3 overall record while Wilberforce, an NAIA member which plays in the American Mideast Conference come in with a 3-5 record. Tech and Wilberforce have never before met on the basketball court.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a disappointing performance against Southland Conference power Lamar on Friday. Though it trailed by just five at halftime, Tech couldn't slow Lamar in the second half. The Cardinals shot 55 percent in the final 20 minutes and outrebounded the Golden Eagles 21-7 down the stretch.
Tech is currently led in scoring by Kevin Murphy, who is averaging 17.2 points per game. Jud Dillard (14.8 ppg) and Zac Swansey (10.0 ppg) are also scoring in double-figures for the Golden Eagles. Dillard is Tech's leader on the boards, pulling down 8.6 rebounds per contest.
