COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- A regular contributor for College Chalktalk, Russ Willemsen - assistant men's basketball coach at Tennessee Tech University - discusses the components of "Late Game Heroics" in the National Coaches' Diary Series (NCDS).
Prior to the 2009-10 season, College Chalktalk launched the National Coaches' Diary Series. The first and only of its kind, the NCDS runs each November through March, with nearly 70 coaches - and counting - from over 24 different conferences contributing to College Chalktalk, providing monthly insight into their respective teams or tackling hot-button issues in today's game.
Willemsen has also submitted pieces discussing handling adversity on and off the court, the importance of thorough scouting and preparation for opponents, and the significance of team bonding off-court.
In his most recent submission, Willemsen discusses how Tennessee Tech has benefitted from preparing, both on individual and team levels, for homestretch scenarios on the court.
