On to the next one; men's basketball team heads to Richmond for EKU on Saturday
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will round out their "Death Valley" road trip with a game against the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Tech - which, prior to this trip to Morehead and Richmond, hasn't been on the road since December 4 - is coming off a 76-64 loss to the MSU Eagles on Thursday. The game, which puts Tech at 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the OVC, marked the Golden Eagle's first conference match-up of 2011.
With a 7-8 overall record, 2-3 in the OVC, the Colonels are coming off a Thursday night win against Jacksonville State. Prior to that, they had lost four of their past five games, but were coming off a win against Georgia Southern. The OVC victory against JSU puts the Colonels at no. 8 in conference standings.
EKU holds a narrow 62-58 lead on the lifetime series against Tech, and has won the past five contests when matching up against the Golden Eagles.
Fans who are unable to make it to Richmond for Saturday evening's contest can listen to Roger Ealey call the action on the Golden Eagle Sports Network, or on free Teamline at 1-800-846-4700 (Tech code 0654).
