Football to host Soaring Eagle Kids Camp, June 10-12

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech football program will kick off the first of four summer camps on Monday, June 10, with the Soaring Eagle Kids Camp. Camp will run from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. from Monday through Wednesday, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday. The cost is $100 per camper.

The Soaring Eagle Kids Camp is open to youth players from kindergarten through eighth grade. It is designed to help your aspiring football players understand the game of football and learn the fundamentals that help our players succeed at the college level.

For three days, participants will be coached on proper technique, taken through drills, and taught the fundamentals of football.  At the end of each day the kids will compete in games against one another. Each child will be provided a Watson Brown Football Camp t-shirt and lunch.

The 2011 OVC Coach of the Year, Watson Brown, and his championship staff at Tennessee Tech University runs the Soaring Eagle Kids Camp.  The football coaches will lead and supervise the camp at all times.

“We’re looking forward to another great turnout at Kid’s Camp this year,” Brown said. “It gives us an opportunity to have some fun with our younger fans and help them develop into future athletes.”

In late July, the TTU football staff will also host a high school mini camp, a “7-on-7” football camp, and a team camp.

Although this camp is owned and operated by TTU coaches and use of their facilities is warranted, it is run independently of Tennessee Tech University.
