Cast your votes for Watson Brown; He's currently fifth in nationwide voting

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech's Watson Brown is off to a great start in nationwide voting for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year balloting, currently sitting in fifth place among the 124 coaches on the list.

Golden Eagle fans have an opportunity to show their support of the likeable fifth-year head caoch by casting a vote each day,. The voting runs through December 3. The LIberty Mutual Coach of the Year award honors coaches in all four divisions who demonstrate excellence both on- and off-the-field. The current top four cpoaches (as of Thursday, Sept. 15) are from Chattanooga, Georgia Southern, Eastern Washington and Montana State.

The awards incudes four key criteria -- sportsmanship, integrity, responsilibility and excellence -- words that are an everyday part of Watson Brown's coaching style and emphasis.

The award criteria seeks the following:

* Coaches that conduct themselves in an honorable way on the sidelines, in the locker room and with the media set an example for everyone to follow. (sportsmanship)

* The best coaches won't do whatever it takes to win. They're able to compete without bending or even breaking the rules. (integrity)

* Communities support their coaches every game. Coaches support the communities they live in. (responsibility)

* Wins and losses aren't the only measures of excellence. It's also about leading a team to excel in the classroom. (excellence)

In addition to voting for Brown, Tech fans are also encouraged to share messages via social media such as Facebook and Twitter to encourage others to vote for the TTU coach.
