One of the most versatile athletes on the roster, Taylor has made the move from wide receiver to free safety...an extremely hard worker on the field and in the weight room...made great progress during the spring after transitition to his new position...has excellent techniques and understanding of the fundamentals...an intelligent player...backup at long snapper.
AT TECH (In 2009): Taylor worked on the offensive side of scrimmage in his true freshman season, lining up as an inside receiver...also played on special teams...did not accumulate any offensive numbers...had one tackle.
HIGH SCHOOL: A local standout, Taylor was named first-team All-Region 3-5A as a senior after spending the year serving as team captain for the Cookeville High School Cavaliers...an Old Spice Leadership Award Nominee, he was a four-year letterman and three-year starter...as a senior he chalked up 72 total tackles, forced six fumbles and recovered five fumbles...as a defensive back, he also made five interceptions...for his career he played six different positions, including quarterback, passing for more than 2,200 yards and 35 touchdowns...an extremely versatile athlete, he was also the team long snapper all four seasons...lettered in track & field twice for coach Bill Wrasman, and basketball three years under coach Kevin Bray.
