Ryan Weeks

Bio

Ryan is listed second at center heading into fall camp...fighting to earn a spot in the rotation in the offensive line...has been on the roster two seasons, but has yet to see any playing time due to a couple of injuries...earned a medical redshirt season in 2007 following foot surgery, but also sidelined during 2008 due to an ankle injury...finally appears ready step into the Golden Eagle lineup...has trimmed down and is working at increasing his strength...should benefit from off-season conditioning...tremendous physical potential...comes to Tech from a strong high school program, and should make an easy transition to the college game once he gets underway...has had plenty of time to learn the system...can play either center or guard positions.

At Tech (In 2008): Was ready to join the active roster, but an ankle injury kept him sidelined for a second full season. (In 2007): Foot surgery in the preseason sidelined Ryan for the 2007 season, and he received medical redshirt status.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ryan was a four-year starter at Scottsboro High School...a 6-foot-3, 285-pound offensive lineman, he earned all-region honors as a senior after gaining honorable mention all-region selection as a junior...chosen as the team captain in 2006.

PERSONAL: The son of Randy and Susan Weeks... born August 8, 1988... full name is Ryan Heath Weeks... majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
