BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- After guiding the Tennessee Tech baseball team to a 6-1 win in the series opener against Murray State, TTU junior Tristan Archer has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Archer is the second Golden Eagle to garner the OVC Pitcher of the Week award this season, with Seth Lucio receiving the honor earlier this season (3/20).
A native of Kingsport, Tenn., Archer threw his second complete game of his career, and first of the season, in Tech’s 6-1 win over the Breds. He allowed just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out seven. He also faced the minimum of three batters in six innings.
Archer leads the TTU pitching staff with a 3-1 record and has struck out a team-high 37 batters this season.
Tech travels to Jacksonville State for a three-game series beginning Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
