McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - Even rain can't contain the energy and enthusiasm possessed by Golden Eagle fans and such was the case Thursday evening as the Tech fans of McMinnville braved inclement weather to take part in 2013's seventh Purple Pride Caravan.
Despite late rain falling towards the end of the event, the Tech faithful stayed strong and waited until the last minute of the Caravan ticked by, proving that the anticipation and excitment of the new year of Tennessee Tech athletics is still growing strong.
Three lucky fans won drawings and received Tennessee Tech memorabilia, and one person qualified for the drawing to win a trip for two to the Tech-Wisconsin football game in the Golden Eagle Flyaway, sponsored by 98.5 Kiss FM.
After already making stops in Jamestown, Smithville, Cookeville, Carthage, Livingston, and now McMinnville, the Purple Pride Caravan still has trips to Crossville and another in Cookeville before wrapping up at the Algood Walmart on Tuesday, Aug. 27, just two days before the Golden Eagle season opener in Tucker Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 29.
