Golden Eagle fans flock in droves for final Purple Pride Caravan

ALGOOD, Tenn. - Golden Eagle fans arrived in full force Tuesday evening for the year's final edition of Tennessee Tech's Purple Pride Caravans, taking over the Algood Walmart with high spirits for the start of the new year of athletics.

With the christening of a new football season just under 48 hours away, Tech athletics partnered with Pepsi and 98.5 Kiss FM as they drew in the a large crowd, including some of the newest students at to the university with great music, free food, and entertainment by the Golden Eagle cheer and dance teams.

Four lucky fans won drawings and received Tennessee Tech memorabilia, but the event will be remembered for its grand prize drawing of a trip for two to the Tech-Wisconsin football game in the Golden Eagle Flyaway, sponsored by Kiss 98.5 FM. The lucky winner (pictured above), who is set to embark to Madison, Wis., next weekend wass Carolyn Mayberry.  

The Purple Pride Caravan wrapped up another successful circuit, making stops in Jamestown, Smithville, the Cookeville Hometown IGA, Carthage, Crossville, McMinnville, Livingston, Sparta, the Cookeville Walmart, and the Algood Walmart.  Tech fans will now shift their attention to another exciting year of Golden Eagles athletics, with the football team's season opener in Tucker Stadium on Thursday helping highlight the year's beginning. Tech will square off with Cumberland University with kickoff scheduled for 7:02 p.m.
