White County Purple Pride Caravan huge hit at Sparta Walmart

SPARTA, Tenn. - The citizens of White County were in full force Thursday evening at the fifth Tennessee Tech Purple Pride Caravan of the 2013 year, as several hundred people made their way out to the Walmart Supercenter in Sparta.

Fans enjoyed free hot dogs, drinks, and good old-fashioned socializing as several members of the Golden Eagle athletics department provided information about Tech athletics while encouraging people to come out to the several great sporting events offered to the public.

Three lucky fans won drawings and received Tennessee Tech memorabilia, and one person qualified for the drawing to win a trip for two to the Tech-Wisconsin football game in the Golden Eagle Flyaway, sponsored by Kiss 98.5 FM.

After already making stops in Jamestown, Smithville, Cookeville, and now Carthage, the Purple Pride Caravan still has trips to Crossville, McMinnville, Livingston, Sparta, and another in Cookeville before wrapping up at the Algood Walmart on Aug. 27, just two days before the Golden Eagle season opener in Tucker Stadium on Aug. 29.
