COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Parents and grandparents have been hiding presents in closets, under beds, and in the attic for weeks, all leading up to the big day. Whether on Christmas Eve or earlier Wednesday on Christmas Day, it was finally time to exchange presents, get a visit from Santa Claus, and open those presents.
And, Tennessee Tech fans are not finished yet. Tech Athletics is wishing all Golden Eagle fans a Merry Christmas by unwrapping a new, redesigned website at TTUSports.com. It's a gift that has been hiding in plain site, and with the flip of a switch the new look will be available for all who follow Golden Eagle Athletics.
Using feedback from fans, research into other collegiate websites, and positive input from coaches, athletes, graphic designers and other communications professionals, the Tennessee Tech Sports Information staff has teamed with web engineers and designers at PrestoSports for the new site.
"We hope fans will consider the new site to be fresh, dynamic and more user friendly than ever," said Rob Schabert, assistant athletic diretor for sports information and broadcasting. The new design was created by Schabert, along with Sports Information Coordinators Mike Lehman, Matt Wagner, Jocelyn VerVelde and Dylan Vazzano.
The site features more advanced video and larger photo displays, as well as new social media displays. Another upgrade lists all of the upcoming promotions in addition to the schedule and results tabs.
“This redesign is one more example of Tennessee Tech Athletics' commitment to constantly innovate to better serve our community by providing the best multi-platform news products and the most enjoyable digital experience we possibly can," Schabert said.
Fans are invited to navigate and explore the new website. Among the new and improved features of the new website are:
- A clean, intuitive user interface
- An easier, streamlined method of finding and viewing videos
- A calendar that includes upcoming events, results and promotions
- Rotating graphic links to several special events and promotions
The site features a contemporary new look that provides a user-friendly experience with improved navigation and search functionality with a completely responsive design.

“We expanded content, incuding stories and videos, targeting the areas that fans have told us they are most interested in," Schabert said. "We are continually assessing our web content, and will add new features as they are needed and when fans ask for them.
"Our focus is always on the people who visit the website, and what they are looking for," he said. "We crunched the numbers from the past year and learned what visitors most looked for in our website. We've also taken a lot of input and suggestions from the experts at PrestoSports, and will continue to adapt the site to meet the needs of our fans."
