COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Since the launch of OVCDigitalNetwork.com in August, the Golden Eagle Sports Network has produced broadcasts of several Tennessee Tech sports. Now, for the first time, Tech fans will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of select TTU baseball and softball games. And, the webcasts are free.
The live broadcasts begin today (Friday, March 15) when coach Matt Bragga's Golden Eagle baseball team hosts its OVC home opener against Morehead State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Saturday game with the Eagles, slated for 2 p.m., will also be streamed live.
Softball broadcasts are slated to being next weekend.
These historic broadcasts will provide fans, friends and family the opportunity to watch the Golden Eagle teams from afar at no cost, thanks to Tech Athletics and the Ohio Valley Conference. While scheduling and weather may prevent the ability to broadcast every home event, the Golden Eagle Sports Network is maximizing the number of games it can broadcast this season.
Fans can find the games by visiting OVCDigitalNetwork.com and looking for Tennessee Tech on the Live Events page. Some Tech road games may also be aired, as a handful of other OVC schools are also streaming spring sports.
Produced by Brandon Goodwin and directed by Matt Wagner, both members of the TTU Sports Information staff, the broadcasts will utilize students to produce quality content. Goodwin will provide the play-by-play and Tech student-athlete Marty Jones will supply color commentary.
Students interested in working for GESN should contact Goodwin at email@example.com.
