Field is filled for Bobby Nichols Scramble; Waiting list started
The field for the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Scramble presented by Budweiser is completely filled and a waiting list has been started. The tournament is June 1-3 at three area golf courses.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The field of 257 teams -- or 514 golfers --
has been completely filled for the 2012 Pepsi Bobby Nichols
Scramble presented by Budwesier, and a waiting list has been
started for additional teams hoping to get a late reprieve and
secure a last-minute spot in the tournament.
The fund raiser for Tennessee Tech Athletics will take place June
1-2-3 at three area golf courses, featuring three days of golf and
two big nights of entertainment on Friday and Saturday. The
tournament will feature play at Ironwood Golf Course, White Plains
Golf Course and the Cookeville Golf Club. The championship flight
this year will finish on Sunday at Ironwood.
"This is the earliest we've filled the entire field since the
tournament expanded to a three-day event," said Leveda Birdwell,
co-director of the Scramble. "It's a reflection of just how popular
this tournament has become that golfers who have participated in
past tournaments are anxious to sign up early to guarantee their
spot is renewed."
Golfers who are not registered but hope to be added to the field
can contact the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center
(931-372-3940) to be added to the waiting list.
