A four-year member of the Stony Brook volleyball coaching staff, Claire Lindner has been named the Tennessee Tech assistant volleyball coach, rounding out head coach John Blair’s coaching staff.
A native of Northport, N.Y., Lindner attended Stony Brook University, where she received her Master of Arts in education, along with an advance graduate certificate in coaching in 2008.
For the past four seasons, Lindner has been a member of the Stony Brook coaching staff that saw the Seawolves compile a 24-8 record in 2007, while finishing in first place in the America East Conference during the regular season with an 11-1 mark.
As a member of the Stony Brook staff, Lindner was responsible for several different matters, including film exchange, recruitment, opponent scouting and defensive training and strategy.
Lindner has also served as the head coach/club director of the Long Island Volleyball Academy since 2004. She was responsible for the day-to-day operations and coordinated all of the summer camps and position clinics.
Before becoming a coach at Stony Brook, Lindner played four seasons as a libero for the Seawolves from 2003-06. She was named a team captain for her final two seasons and the team’s MVP in 2006. She also served as the team’s representative to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2005-07.
