David Boyd joined the Tennessee Tech athletic training staff during the fall of 2012. A native of Erie, Pa.. Boyd graduated from West Virginia University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education - Athletic Training.
While at WVU, he served as the vice president of Phi Epsilon
Kappa, the honors fraternity for the school of physical education.
He also worked with several athletic teams as a student trainer
including: wrestling, football, women’s cross country,
women’s track and field, and women’s gymnastics.
Following his graduation from West Virginia, Boyd attended Mercyhurst University and graduated in 2012 with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. At MU he worked extensively with football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s hockey, and softball.
He served as a teacher’s assistant with undergraduate athletic training students and was selected as the assistant coordinator of athletic training services for the 2011 Women’s Frozen Four hockey tournament. Boyd also served as the assistant athletic trainer for the 2011 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) wrestling championships.
