Cory McDonald, a graduate of Tennessee Tech and native of Redwood City, Calif. is in his second year as Development Coordinator. After wrapping up his four-year playing career as a member of the Golden Eagle football squad, McDonald joined the Tech Athletics staff in December 2013.

In his role, McDonald coordinates a variety of projects, meets with former alumni and other supporters, and assists in sporting and public events to advance the department's development efforts.

McDonald came to the Golden Eagles as a wide receiver but made the move to the defensive side of the ball during 2011 spring drills, settling into a safety position that he filled for his final three seasons. Playing 41 games for the Golden Eagles, he was also a regular on Tech's special teams and in the defensive backfield, accumulating over 100 tackles in his career. A strong student, he was listed nine times on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

He earned his degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness, and will add a master's degree in Sports Administration this December. He comes from a family immersed in athletics – both his father and mother are Director's of Athletics in Atherton, Calif.
