COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Former Tennessee Tech football players and friends of the program are invited to gather on July 13-14, for the team's annual Alumni Reunion Weekend and Golf Classic at the Golden Eagle Golf Club.
The festivities open on Friday night, July 13, with the Tony Stone barbecue dinner and silent auction. On Saturday, teams will compete for the Jim Ragland Players Cup – to be awarded to the four-man team that consists of all former players with the lowest score in the tournament – followed by a dinner that evening.
The tournament cost is $125, which includes the Tony Stone barbecue dinner on Friday, the round of golf, cart, cap and goody bag, John Dogs and dinner on Saturday. Teams will be given a preference in teeing off at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m.
Players can also compete in the Jeff Jacoby Putting Contest on Saturday night for cash and prizes.
For alumni and friends that want to attend the reunion, hang out and visit and enjoy the Saturday night dinner, tickets are also available for $25.
The Jim Ragland Players Cup is named in honor of former Tech quarterback (1960-63) and head coach Jim Ragland (1986-95), who was inducted into the Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1980. The cup will have the winners' names engraved on it and will be displayed at the Golden Eagle Golf Club.
The Jeff Jacoby Putting Contest is named in honor of the former Tech linebacker (1973-76) who was a member of the 1975 OVC Championship team. Jacoby passed away from pancreatic cancer last year and was recently honored by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
